SHYAM MOSES Moses Emanuel Beckford, stage name Shyam Moses, was born in Jamaica at the University Hospital on October 23 1978. The second son to Phyllis Allison and Stanley Alexander Beckford, he was raised in the parish of St. Andrew.
At the tender age of five he discovered his love for music and has been growing strong ever since. His first encounter with a musical instrument was with a small keyboard which he taught himself to play. As he matured he also took great interest in the guitar and once again, he taught himself to play. He would often play and sing with his family at church services and at the age of sixteen, the richness of his voice was well beyond his years. In 1996, the boy group T O Q was formed Shyam being one of the lead vocalists, and song writers. The group performed at hotels and other occasions such as weddings and parties. Shyam’s passion for music extends to other types such as; Gospel, Reggae, Soul, and R&B.
Today he is a solo artist and performs for local and international audiences. He has performed on stages as large as Reggae Sumfest and Sting, to as small as cocktail bars and private parties. Shyam is an extremely passionate and talented performer who lives to share his gift of music with the world. SHYAM MOSES has had releases such as; - “Always love you” on the “My baby riddem”, Big yard label. - “All for you” on the Rainy day ribbem” - And “More love” on the wild pine Riddem “ To name a few. The independent release of his first CD album (Expressions) has been met with great enthusiasm from the listening audience and has won him a fan base that includes both Jamaicans and foreigners. Shyam is poised and ready to take the international stage and give the world a taste of his passion. In January 2010 Shyam started the label “MOSES PRODUCTIONS” and has since been producing music that has the listening public buzzing. Since then he has recorded a second album called “journey to peace”. This is a totally independent project which is now creating a new fans base for Shyam and his work. Today this producer, song writer, musician and artist is well on his way to the four front of the world music scene. Be on the look out for Shyam Moses.
